Quarterly update
It’s hard to believe that it has been about seven months since entering office as your Ward 1 Council Person.
In that time I’ve met with leadership and staff from every city department. I am genuinely impressed by the professionalism and commitment to the city of Twinsburg demonstrated by leadership and staff.
I proactively round every street in the Ward each month since I’ve been in office. My perspective of the Ward has recently improved by riding Ward One by bicycle, the slower pace and open air is amazingly beneficial. I also continue to meet face to face or over the phone with residents to hear and see their concerns and have worked to solve many issues with the help of Twinsburg’s Building, Police, Fire and Public Works Departments.
I remain engaged with Twinsburg businesses and continue to learn about the challenges that many are facing like workforce, transportation and ease of permitting. Occupancy of commercial space in Ward 1 is strong with minimal vacancy.
I’ve remain connected with the Environmental Commission and have been supporting the Board of Building and Zoning Appeals as their council representative. I applaud the success of the Environmental Commission with the support of Public works forfilling the shredder truck at the annual shredding event. Over 10,000 pounds of shredded material was recycled.
Updates:
Glenwood Drive Water Line: Please be mindful of safety the work in the area and follow the posted detours. Because of the proximity to the railroad crossing and intersections within the construction zone signalized traffic devices are not an option. By request, Twinsburg’s Police Department has been monitoring the area as residents and the workers have reported concerns of cars and motorcycles not following the detours. The contractor is conducting their work timely, and are responsive to issues. Should you have any questions about the project please reach out to me at (234)293-9806.
Zoning Code Update: The latest draft of the proposal is available at https://together.mytwinsburg.com/city-of-twinsburg-zoning-code-update
I’ve worked with city staff to help make the proposed zoning code more friendly to based hobby based agricultural endeavors like gardening, beekeeping and laying. Many opportunities for residents to participate in the process took place and changes to the proposed code happened as the result. Again, if you have questions about the proposed zoning update please ask.
